Metal Detecting For Beginners

Any advice for a good starter detector would be appreciated.

First of all, where do you plan to use it? If it’s mainly on beaches, you’ll require a different detector than one that gets used mainly on soil.

Secondly, what’s your budget?

Thirdly, detectorists are badass.

Rural fields, we’re moving to a house that has a small woodland attached, budget max £500 if it made a big difference over something lesser. My grandson is very interested and I’ve been slightly interested
