Had an Antec P182 for about 6 months and have noticed that on the metal grill front where the 120mm fan filters fit has a few specks of rust that are starting to show, I did notice also during my build that on some of the joins in the case showed some rust, having seen this on a few metal framed cases, I think I will go back to Aluminium case like the trusted Akasa Eclipse 62 which are not prone to these problems..

Rat look case :D

I'm sure the guys in motors would tell you all about rust, but I always thought PC cases were made from Alu or Stainless Steel...

The cheaper/no alu ones are made from mild steel, screw stainless, that'd cost more and not be worth it, alu has a much nicer finish, although they are similar.

Both of my good cases are stainless, and were around £40... I guess they aren't as common as I thought tho...

By the looks of it tho, I do have a few old cases which appear to be steel.

Both steel and aluminum are metal. ;)

Sounds like you have a damp house though, which isn't going to help the situation.

Bought two P182's from diffrent suppliers and they both **Arrived** with small flecks of rust where the metal was cut & rolled in the factory.. Nothing to do with the house.. :)

Rust must be happening at a production level. Maybe after the pannles have been cut?

It would take YEARS for it to rust in your home... unless you live on the coast, and sit outside:/

I sence a hint of self promotion...:D

Sorry mate, I was trying to be funny... my sense of humor is just a little rusty at the moment.

I'll get my coat

Yes that makes sense: Rust must be happening at a production level. Maybe after the pannles have been cut?
