Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 now on PC !

Anyone able to confirm if these are straight "ports" from the already existing PC versions of the game, just a simple patch to make them work on modern hardware, if its the case i'm disappointed and better off just using my copies of the old PC version.

Looking at some of the forum comments:

Keep in mind this is the original 2000 PC port for MGS1 and requires fanmade fixes for best performance.

MGS should require no introduction, so let's get this out of the way; it's a classic, it's a massive part of gaming history, I'm overjoyed that it's legitimately available on PC again. Play it. With that said, just so you know what you're getting into; this is a very basic re-issue of the original PC port from the early 2000's. Graphics options are extremely basic and I still get a black bar glitch from the old port at the bottom of the screen (fixable but that really should have been sorted out here). It works and that's something as the original PC version is a) difficult to fix for Win 10 and b) increasingly rare 2nd hand. Regardless, it's a shame Konami gave such cheap treatment to one of the all time greats.

Basically what they are selling, for what I see, is a poorly functioning emulated version. Settings menus are glitchy and unresponsive, controls are assigned by default seemingly at random, no widescreen support. Thanks, Konami, you do continue to remain the worst. Not refunding only to make it a lesson for myself. Avoid this version like a plague. Better get fan rework of an old PC port.

So sounds like it might be disappointing. If it was cheap i'd probably give it a shot, but £7.19 for what might be a very glitchy game doesn't sit well with me.

I knew I was getting my hopes up that Konami was actually going to do the right thing for once and release a remaster like they did for the PS3/360, Guess i'll just continue using the disks versions of the game, since it's exactly the same as this lazy "port".

Regarding controller support

NOTE:
Recommended controller layout is available here.
Most of the popular PC controllers are supported (with the exception of PS4 one), however, trigger buttons are not possible to bind for XBOX 360 and XBOX One controllers.

disappointing thread. Same as it was 20 years ago then.

you get better results emulating the originals if you want to play on PC.

Edit again.
Its also shameful to ask for €10 for a 20 year old game that has not been fixed!
I would pay for Snake Eater though
