Metal Gear Solid 4 Cutscenes = 90 Minutes long

It wouldn't surprise me.

More and more games are turning over to cut-scenes to tell the "story", like it matters, if I wanted to watch a good story I'd rent a movie. And I especially hate being forced to watch cut-scenes, with no option to skip e.g. COD4/GRAW2.

in a lot of games, the "story" does matter. especially MGS. i presume you'll be blasting through the game in x amount of hours without knowing what the hell is going on?

The story matters in who's opinion?

I do tend to watch them at least the first time as I prefer to know what is going on, but some people would rather just play and for this reason it should always be possible to skip cutscenes. There's really no excuse for not being able to.

You can pause or skip the cut scenes in MGS4, but from what i have read they're not the normal cut scene we are used to, they have a degree or interaction and some other features.

It's always been possible to skip cutscenes in MGS anyway hasn't it, so it shouldn't be a problem either way in MGS4.

Yea you could always skip them, not exactly a new feature for MGS4. Tis very long for a cut-scene, but its very story driven so it should be good for fans of the series.

Yeah it's retarded and MGS cutscenes have always rambled on about boring crap, like how the Darpa Chief starts going on about nuclear missiles for about 10 minutes on MGS1.

the cutscenes are part of the whole MGS experience and they are rarely boring or irrelevant...

its not an issue to me in the slightest that there are sections of the game where i'm not in direct control and have to watch some well scripted, beautifully rendered footage :)

if you want a game where there are no cutscenes and the story doesn't matter then don't play MGS...

I'm a fan of the cutscenes, But Once I've seen them the first time, I usually skip them the second time through, UNless i've not played for a while.

But MGS is always known for long cutscenes this one shouldn't be any different. And I'm glad there's plenty, As it's part of what makes MGS awesome. No FMV, All cutscene and usually done with fantastic style.

I didn't think any one really played MGS for the gameplay anyway. I powered through 3 on easy because all I cared was the story.

There's some guy out on the net who's compiled 3 movies based on the custscenes of all the games. I'll see if I can dig out the think later on.
