Dunno why they shouldn't have really if MGS4 was going to be PS3 only game.

I mean the old school Sony Walkman was a defining product of the 80's, Metal Gear and Solid Snake himself appeared in the same era, so why not?

Surely a throwback like that could have fit in with Kojima's obscureness and sense of humour, and it would still make sense in a way given the time period of MGS4 as well.
