Think ill take this game on its merits and ignore the title. If its as good as Bayonetta was (and they appear to be similar looking at the trailer) then ill be happy regardless :)

Which looks poor. MGS 2 was mostly based on Raiden also but that was still a good game. This just looks like a poor 'spin off'

I hope i'm wrong and it turns out great but i really can't see it, not after seeing that video anyway.
 
I'm just kinda glad it's still actually coming out, for what appears to be a rather limited game I figured it must have been scraped and they just hadn't told anyone yet :p

Having watched the original trailer and then this new one again, the difference is astounding really. The first looks like a proper, MGS-quality game whereas the latter is just another Japanese over-the-top sword-wielding slashfest of generic crap. If it wasn't for the Metal Gear in the name, it'd probably go largely ignored.

I haven't seen the trailer yet, stuck in work with a crappy 3G connection but this game was always going to be a fast paced action game, hence the changing of the traditional tagline to "Lightning Bolt Action". Has it differed quite a lot since the last time I saw anything of it? The last things that I saw were around the launch of the Playstation Move, where they were showing someone cutting up pieces of fruit.
 
I havent played a MGS game since 2 on the PS2. I was hoping this would be more of the same, guess not. Hope its good in its own right instead then.
 
Personally I'm actually looking forward to Cyborg Ninja Gaiden: Raiden. Why? Because as someone mentioned before, this is a spin-off game and Konami have said that they will being taking this new Metal Gear related game into a different direction.

Seeing how ridiculously capable Cyborg Raiden was in MGS4, forcing into the standard gameplay that the series is known for wouldn't work. It will limit what he has to offer. If this isn't "Lightning Bolt Action" then what is?
 
It being made by Platinum Games, mad to dismiss it on grounds of that trailer, really confused why people were expecting a proper MGS game - enough hints were dropped that it was going to be far more action orientated...

Think it will end up being Marmite though, MGS fans not liking it because its not MGS and Platinum Games fans feeling the game is restricted because of the license...

Happy to wait and see - pre-order still intact...

It's not that people were necessarily expecting another MGS game, but the first trailer released ages ago showed it as having the same 'style' and quality of an MGS title whilst bringing in new gameplay elements. I'd have bought it. Hell, I actually had it pre-ordered ages back until I realised it was being delayed indefinitely.

This latest trailer has scrapped all of that completely. I won't be buying it.
 
Your loss really - when you look at the first trailer (not even 30 seconds of possible ingame footage) its not that far off what shown in the latest trailer - who says you still wont have time slowdown and precise slicing still? How Raiden moves between baddies seems virtually the same...

Think people are seeing differences that werent there or have investment in what they thought the game was going to be and using those formed assumptions. Just watched both back to back and theres so little information in the first to even allow you to colour the second really...

Though Im not a fan of the whole Devil May Cry massive bosses bit - far too Japanese for me...
