I've searched within the forum but can't find any. :(

It's for a friend who just bought a lian li case to sit along side his 30" Dell monitor. He wanted something cool to fully complement it!

I've seen the speedlink, and enermax ones but he's not interested as they don't have metal keys!

I'm sure keyboards like this exist but the only one's i've found are industrial grade and not quite what you'd want sat on your desk! :p

So, rather than spending even more time searching i thought i'd ask some of you good forum members for advice!

Thanks in advance!

The closest thing ive ever seen is the coolermaster alu keyboard but ive never seen a home use desktop keyboard with metal keys

Thanks for the fast response guys!

My mate really liked the CM board and the apple sounds nice too!

Really appreciate the help! :)

I'll keep you posted on what he decides and hope for someone to maybe track one down!

Cheers,

Just a little BUMP to see if anyone had any more thoughts on the all metal keyboard!

Still not been able to track anything down!

Sure I've seen something like this in [competitor - I'd remove it before you go on holiday].

Mentioning a competitor will earn you a holiday mate - I'd remove the reference.

I have the speedlink, it's an excellent keyboard, although the layout is a little different (enter and a couple of other keys) you get used to that very quickly.

Regulus - think you better remove that competitor name in your quote box before someone sees it. ;)

Amp34 - am i right in thinking that the speedlink board has plastic keys? I only ask because the friend i'm doing this search for wants an 'all metal' board! Keys as well!

They seem to be pretty rare as i haven't found anything on google so far! :(

I think perhaps Advent (am I allowed to say that?) maunfacture metal keyboards, don't know if they stock them at OCUK or not. Can't promise about the keys though you'd have to do some more research.

Also try searching for 'aluminium' keyboard rather than 'metal'.

ARGH - no speedlink

I've got a speedlink and I hate it
It's light flimsy and the build quality is poor, I really wouldn't recommend it.

I now have the enermax Auroa brushed aluminium keyboard.

Build quality is outstanding and it is light years ahead of the pathetic speedlink (no offense to anyone who has one - I've got one and do not rate it anywhere as highly as the Enermax)

"my two cents" :D

OCUK do stock the Enermax brushed aluminium keyboard in both Silver and Black.

The keys are metat coloured plastic yes, having said that there is no wear to the keys whatsoever and I have used it a lot. They also clean really easily. :)

The advent keyboard may just be a rebranded speedlink, well the one I have seen in a well known shop are anyway.

As for the flimsiness, there is a little flex in the board if you lift it up and flex it but if its on a remotely flat surface you wont know it whatsoever. The overall build quality is excellent, the keys are perfect and all feel the same (ie no heavier keys) and the metal finish is excellent with beautifully rolled edges and surface. Perhaps the previous poster had a dud one?
