Hi all,

I am sure many people are in a similar situation to me but I just can't find a photo storage solution that's quite right for me.

I currently have this setup

The problem is that reorganising needs to be done on two seperate places (server and Box) meaning I can quickly get in a mess across my devices.

Does anyone have any tips for me please?

Thanks for the responses. I should have mentioned that the HP microserver has Linux on it, as it acts as my front end media centre for my bedroom as well as my entire back end local storage, so the only way to sync with Box is complicated and (I think) risky......but I see that two people have recommended that so I guess I should at least invest more effort into looking at it.

What do you guys do?

I agree in principle Raymond but the cloud sync from my linux server needs some looking into. In future what I may look at is buying a completely separate storage server and running it on Windows 2012 R2 with the Box Sync app running for an accurate, timely sync.

Update in case anyone is interested, I'm working on the linux (and windows) method of sync called Unison. So far so good it will keep my server and Cloud in sync all being well, so I only need to upload to my server which cuts out a stage :)

One of the things I can't work out how to do best is how/what schedule to move photos off my phone camera, what does everyone else do?

I.e. If I do a sync every night from my phone to my NAS, I can't decide whether to move the photo or copy it. If I move it it seems a shame to not have it on the phone to show my wife etc ,but if I copy it I fear I will get in a mess.

which cloud solution do you use? many charge quite a hefty amount and i imagine you would need at least 1tb storage if you are syncing and storing raw files?

I use box mate, I get 100GB for free, only store RAW files from my wedding shoot only JPEGS for the rest
