With DX11 enabled and the Very high preset I was getting around 30-40 fps is most places and with DX10 and very high preset I was getting around 55-90 FPS is most places. So I'm just wondering what DX11 brings to the table to warrant the FPS decrease or it is now worht using? Also, when they open the door to the outside just after you walk through the hospital, is it supposed to hit frame rates hard, I dipped to around 25 FPS at that point!

DX11/DX10 Visual difference is very small, especially on Metro 2033

Agree. I also couldn't tell the difference between high and very high presets on DX11. DOF and tesselation are the two biggest framerate killers on that game, followed by 4xAA if you enable that.

When I played through the game on my old PC I was using a 5870 at 1080p and had it on DX11 high settings with DOF and Tesselation off and went from start to finish with no framerate issues and it looked really good still.

There's little difference as others have said though I didn't find it too much of a frame rate killer, still was playable with anti-aliasing.

It was my understanding that dx11 runs better than dx10. Just make sure to switch off both or at least depth of field options in dx11
