Metro 2033 Lowish fps.. or is it?

JUst got an upgrade form a 5870 to a 580. All of the games i have tryed seem to have an improvment (just cause 2, Amensia, crysis etc) but metro..seems to be slower than my 5870. Even on High im getting only around 25fps where my 5870 was getting around 35-40 on the first part of the demo.

Its been a while since ive played the metro demo so i may have thos 5870 fps stats wrong but im pretty sure i havnt. ANy one got any ideas if this is normal fps?

P.s my res is 1920x1200.

i think so >< i didnt have CCC installed just the drivers and i uninstalled them using driver manager. Thats worked for me in the past :( Ive checked in uninstall/install programs in control panel and theres nothing of ati's there :(

Also I just tyred GTA4 and its running at an amazing...2fps :)

I started to play this today as it looked ok.

Played for about 30 minutes and I am not sold.
Is it just me or is there no depth to the sound? It all sounds very flat/dull and 0 bass or anything.

Menus stink of consoles as well uninstalled it now :/
 
To be honest 1920x1200 high settings you may only see 25fps in places if you are using DOF, AA etc and have vsync enabled. Metro2033 is probably the most demanding FPS game there is.
 
wow thats low for a 580, I get a average of 37-42fps with my 480 with everything turned up, abit off topic but I had to use the supplied drivers on the disc with my 480 to get WoW to let me use ultra settings, so maybe try different drivers, also if you got a Asus 580 make sure none of the software from Asus is installed, caused a ton of problems for me
 
ive just done a full reformat and its still the same :( it slows right down if theres smoke/fire on the screen :( maybe i was hopeing for too much with the 580 :(
 
I'd wager it's the NCP settings that's causing you the problem. Run everything on default settings in the NCP and see if it helps.
 
Eveyrthing else seems to be running better (batman arkam asylums fps drops with Physx Enabled when your in a smokey area to around 45fps from 90-100fps+ Hmmm :( Oh well..io can always get a second 580 next year :P Shame tho i was looking forward to properly playing metro with 45+ fps :(
 
Have you disabled DOF? That canes the framerate. Also use the inbuilt benchmark to see what fps you are actually getting.

In the demo you cant go into advance settings just low, mediu etc settings. Ive put them on low but im not getting a HUGE increase maybe 15fps better off if that.
 
Disable PhysX as it's biggest fps killer there if it's bothering that much though i prefer to have it on.
 
DOF, tessellation and anti-aliasing all destroy the frame rate in metro 2033 in dx11 mode with ease so if you are applying all 3 at the same time, even a 580 probably has no chance of keeping up
 
Doesn't AMD cards have the better performance anyway with Metro at the mo? Bear that in mind when making a comparison. Yeah, don't forget to disable one or two of the dx11 settings which will bring your card to its knees.
 
WOW am i a t*t lol!! I just turned off in dx 11 options advance dof... and fps is up to a somewhat better level of 45-55 on very high lol Its still not stable..but running that on 1920x1200 is what i was expecting. thanks guys! :D:D
