metro 2033 movement glitch

so, here's a weird one

finally decided to give 2033 a proper go, started up a new game and i've got as far as the bandit camp where you need to sneak around and free your buddy.

problem is, every time i respawn/load up the checkpoint my character is stuck trying to move in 11 direction, like i'm constantly holding down the key.

i still have full control otherwise- i can stop the movement by walking the other direction, can aim shoot etc but it's really difficult to compensate for.

google seem to have this bug plenty with stuck controller sticks but i'm just using kb/mouse and my controller hasn't been on in months.

Try uninstalling/disabling the controller drivers. I had a similar problem in another game, even though my controller wasnt plugged in. Doing this helped, despite is being a pain.
