Metro 2033 now works

I downloaded this game from Steam a few months ago and it never worked as it failed to launch every time i tried. Since the latest Nvidia drivers were installed it now works fine.

Did anyone else have this issue??

I'm not sure but I do recall a number of people, including myself, saying that it wouldn't load during the first attempt after installation. I think I closed steam, re-opened it, then tried to run the game and all was well. After that it ran fine each time.

Is it any good?! Ive been thinking about getting it but its not something i normally go for.

Imo graphically the best looking game yet. Regardless of that, it is now the new benchmark and is a fairly tough workout for most decent systems. It seems to be rather popular.

OK it sounds liek it could be good then, i'll give it a try

I thourouly enjoyed this game.

Some parts are abit generic, but others are intense, and exciting, and the game play does vary it up nicely.

What I like about it was its more than just a shooter/stalker game.

There are bits where you have to climb up braking down towers etc... and if you have a decent dx 11 gpu you will be wowed with the graphics..

Yes its a beast to run at decent frames, but turn a few settings off (Depth of Field and MLAA) and the game will run just fine.

To be honest i aint played it yet but will be doing shortly. I lost the will to play it when i had all the problems.
