Metro 2033 - physxloader.dll is missing

Cant play this steam launches it and i get the error saying im missing the PhysXLoader.dll, any idea what this is or where i get it from i dont even have a physx card or an nvidia card.

install the physx drivers it tells you to at the end of the install.

there a folder in the install folder with them as well.

You can download and install that without needing an nVidia card. Tho usually games have their own version of it thats included in the installation.

You need this version actually, since Metro can also use multi-threaded CPU physics.

I have the same error, Have removed the original Physix driver, cleaned the reg and then installed the Guru sites version, getting same error still? Plenty of Steam users getting this too??? Looks like a crap release

Update: just tried to manually register the physxloader.dll and get an error that it was not a valid dll ???

I restarted and it fixed it, tried installing and uninstalling physx but didnt make any diff

Well, i re ran the physx software, then instead of runnning the launch from Steam, I went to the install folder and ran the .exe and it loaded ???

Finally managed to get mine working with that error.

Tried all the physx installer download variations but none of those worked.

Ran the installer from the steam folder and restarted and that solved it!

Install location is:

c:/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/metro2033/install/

Run as admin.

I got the same errors on my first install of this game today, seems to happen to most games that want PhysX installed which is annoying for Ati owners.

Good job I read down to Le Samourai post for the Steam file location, as I was going to download the 2nd link for PhysX v10.02.22. Maybe your more alert than us in spotting that folder

Oddly, I ran PhysX_10.02.22_9.10.0222_SystemSoftware and it proceeded to uninstall Nvidia PhysX. So I re-ran it and it still doesn't work and the same 2 screens above pop up.

My Vista account is default Admin so why doesn't it work & what else can I try?
