Please could you guys who are familiar with M2033 tell me if its possible (using some kinda config tweak) to disable the motion blur while keeping all the other settings at their maximum?

I just installed the game yesterday and my computer runs it really nice and smooth but I find the motion blur annoying . But to disable it completely means dropping all the other settings down.

I wish they had individual sliders instead of pre-configured modes!!

Apart from that...wow...fabulous game!

Could try changing sick_mblur 0 to a negative value such as -5
Located inside user.cfg. The value is 10th from the bottom inside the cfg file.

I personally thought it was a nice touch and added to the suspense of the action. What you gonna ask for next??

THe thing is, if its an effect really to increase immersion, properly thats cool by me. But what happens when the condensation covers half your mask, all the time, and theres no "wipe inside of helmet with back of glove option".

It might be a realstic effect, to a degree, but still brings around an unrealistic and irritating situation.

Most motion blur is pretty simple, it was to hide rubbish framerate it fast moving games on rubbish hardware, as with so many hiding rubbish hardware based effects companies just talked them up as more realistic, and now you get the odd game that LOSES performance trying to make perfect motion blur, rather than increase performance by using it to hide a lack of performance.

Depth of field is much the same, in Metro its woeful, spend several hundred quid on the top gfx card around, then have 2/3rd's of the screen slightly blurry in an attempt to be more realistic. However, how many times do you move your eyes, but not your head, and focus on something else, basically constantly, depth of field thats focused on a static part of the screen is an attempt at realism, but actually for me makes the entire feel much much worse.

Most effects have their place, depth of field basically non existant in freelook and only used when using ironsights makes a bit more sense. But a LOT of effects are massively overused, and completely unrealistic when used all the time. Depth of field effects are ok but only when used as and when you would have that effect in real life, all the time, its just poop.

RobRX-7 _thanks will give that a go! Thanks for the heads up on the config file. Yes that mask effect is annoying cuz in real life they are desinged to prevent condensation so I wish that function was there!
