i recently built a new pc and for some reason im getting into the low 20's during the metro benchmark

i tried all the different direct x modes and tried turning off advanced physx but it isnt making any difference

is this normal for metro? im running at 1080p

Processor - Intel 4930K 3.40GHz
Cooler - Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard - Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition

So you've turned off physx completely? That's not normal really because with physx off (I am an AMD user) I get much better than that.

Can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but 1080p with Maximum settings gets 60fps ish.

yep, just ran the benchmark again after posting this :/
once with it enabled and once without
i got the same peformance both times

The benchmark doesn't reflect when you're actually playing the game, so don't worry about it.

I had the same problem on my previous card, which was a GTX 660 OC with a GTX 650 OC as a dedicated PhysX card, but when i was playing the game, i was playing it fine on max settings with PhysX enabled, which your 780Ti will be able to do no problem on it's own.

It should still be higher than 20fps with his spec though!

I have:

i7 4770k @ 4.5Ghz
8GB Ram
AMD R9 290x 4GB
Windows 8.1

I'll see what my benchmark says tonight if you want, I left it installed because I hadn't completed it.

i feel a bit silly now :p thanks for the info
i always try and get the benchmark running well before i start a new game but after this im going to have to change my ways :)

just played a few levels and its running fine

edit:
it would be great if you can check that VincentHanna :) it will be nice to know if im getting the peformance i should

Turn off DOF, It's an unnecessary performance hog and makes little difference ON anyway. I hope Metro 2033 Redux doesn't have the same impact.

Depth of field and Tessellation didnt make any difference for me
i was running with AAA mode but both had the same performance

Sorry, I thought that you meant metro: last light.

Which is a better and more optimised engine. I just ran the scene D6 benchmark on that.

DirectX 11
1080p,
Very high quality
AF16x
Motion blur normal
SSAA enabled
Tesselation very high
PhysX off and the result after 3 runs was:

Average fps: 37.33
Max: 82.52
Min: 12.06

Edit - And i've just realised that the Catalyst 14.6 beta drivers have over-ridden my max fan speed settings for my R9 290x which means the card was probably throttling slightly...
