Who's getting it? Who's playing it? Thoughts?


Playing through it just now, I have to say some very good atmosphere, very nice visuals, combat's a bit meh but that's not what the game's about. I haven't jumped this many times at a videogame since Silent Hill 2 xD

Then again, it is a video Game... I would give it an overall:

9.7/10 for sound, video and atmosphere
5/10 for gameplay

If you liked stalker GET IT.

Disappointed that there don't seem to be any videothroughs around of people who are actually any good at the game a la GunSmith's Crysis videothrough: people wasting ammo, knifing mutants, not knifing people, not exploring obvious caches etc. Might have to make one myself at some point.

i would have to disagree there, the pacing, setting and atmosphere are similar between the two as well as being created by a large part of the stalker team. however that wasnt what i was on about: if you like immesive games with a very serious chordlike stalker then you will almost certainly like metro.

better? :)
 
At least it gives our rigs a workout for a change. The visuals, in most respects, are truly excellent. So I feel it does deserve some praise to a certain extent as a significant title.
