Metro: 2033, trailer

Couldn't get into any of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, so hoping this will be nothing like those. The reviews and comments about 'shooting' aren't filling me with confidence though.

Will read a few more reviews, wait for community feedback and play the demo(?) but it might be a case of waiting for a Steam Sale + a 'overhaul' mod (is the game mod friendly?)

Ordered my copy for £25, im really looking forward to it. What settings will i be playing at with my spec:
AMD PII 3.4Ghz
4Ghz Ram
BFG 280GTX OCX

Im looking to upgrading my graphics card in april/may to a 5870 or if money can stretch it a 5970.

Bah, didn't realise it would be Steam activated till now, guess that's a lost sale from me. Do not want draconian DRM, I want to sell my games after I've played them!

put it on a separate account and just sell the details along with the disk....

Did he seriously just call Steam 'draconian DRM'?

Think about it for a minute.

All these games I've bought and enjoyed will now be stuck with my account forever as I've used my one and only activation. I can't legally sell the account or deactivate the games for someone else to enjoy.

Don't get me wrong it's a great tool and I think it's the way forward but I just wish there was a way for me to sell my retail games that I was forced into activating via Steam.

+1, partly why I have converted to gaming on an xbox.

I understand that viewpoint, but since I have NEVER resold a game in my life (except for last gen consoles), this doesn't affect me :D

The resale on most games is peanuts anyway.
I think steam is fantastic and the reason I sold my xbox 360 and gought a GTX295.
All games at 1920x1200 at 60fps now.BLISS!

I put my pre-order in at ShopTo yesterday, but it looks like I'll have to wait 'til Friday to play it.

Regarding selling old games: Surely it doesn't matter too much when most PC games cost a fraction of the same game on the consoles? I personally don't mind too much, as I like to pick-up an old game every now again from my Steam list :)
