I might be missing something here but where's the **** OMG OFFICAL THREAD!!!!!11111**** ???

I dont own a 360 or a PC (anymore) so up until last night had never even heard of this game but watched the trailer nonetheless and it's looks freaking amazing but like I said no thread in the Console Area :eek:

It's out on Friday, has it not got very good reviews or is it just that everyone is getting it on PC?

Makes me :( that it's not coming to PS3
 
Have seen a few trailers and it looked pretty much the same as any other FPS really to me, can't say I've looked in any great detail.
 
I've seen one review and it got a 9. The videos I've seen make this look really good and also quite scary :o

Anyway my order has shipped so hopefully I'll have it soon.
 
I think the reason there is no hype about it because there is nothing original about it. It sounds way too much like a rip-off of Fallout. Maybe if they came up with a more original idea that didn't involve nuclear holocaust + mutants + you kill them = game over.

Dunno where you got the Fallout thing from, the game's deliberately a spiritual successor to the awesome Stalker - that's the whole point of it.

Oh, just from all the videos and that I've seen it seems so simalar to Fallout? So I was wrong about the general plot about nuclear holocaust, mutants ?

1. Stalker came out over three years ago
2. Stalker is based on a real nuclear fallout (The Chernobyl power plant accident)
3. Stalker was developed by the creative and programming team behind Metro 2033

You weren't wrong about the general plot and mutants, but you were absolutely wrong about it getting influences from Fallout when it's as obvious as a purple elephant in a sauna that Metro 2033 is a step further from Stalker. Right down to the Russians, the abundance of elements of Russian culture, the Russian-made GP5 gas masks, the prevalence of Russian-made weaponry... I can carry on all day :)

Fallout has a Western pre-Cold War vibe (vacuum tubes instead of transistors in the featured technology, as well as the artistic direction for example) that is completely distinct from the theme that Metro 2033 is going for, that was in Stalker.

Metro 2033 was in no way influenced by Fallout; it doesn't need to be. The team is building on the pedigree and legacy of the Stalker games which you really need to play someday; it's one of the most terrifying experiences around.
 
Anyone got any decent review/information about this game? Trailers look wicked but failing to find out exactly what its all about!

Not sure wether to buy...so many games and not enough time to play them all!

I dont know anything about the story but you only have to watch the latest trailer and you wouldn't give a toss about the story after seeing how good it looks :p

Let us know what's it's like chaps that do go and buy it :)
 
Quite enjoying this so far.

The graphics are really, really good and so is the sound. The story is interesting but the gameplay is often broke up by a cut scene or loading screen and the shooting mechanics are quite poor, it takes around 3 headshots with a pistol to kill somebody but yet on other times it can take one :confused:

As for the game being scary.....it really is :o I won't say anything as i don't want to spoil the game but i actually had one moment where i had shivers down my spine.....:(
 
I'm very tempted to pick this up on release. Saw the initial trailer and have been impressed by the reviews I've read.

Good to hear it's good Soulja, if it's scary can see me cranking the brightness up :p
