Metro exodus game saves not working

Bought this in the steam sale, played it for 3 hours then when I tried to run it again all the saves were gone.

Started again and an hour later the saved games are just not loading.

I did a google search and know where the saved game files are but just can't get them to work
Seems to be a common problem so anyone who had it on steam have any idea how to fix it.

It's annoying isn't it? There are files available on the internet to download but I would be very reluctant to touch those.

In my experience the saves tend to reappear after a day or so, before the process then repeats itself.

Could it be win defender blocking access somehow to em, ive had it with a few games where it wouldnt let me save unless i authorised the folder or somit.

I've had that happen with a few games. For me Bitdefender will block access to the save folder unless I give it access. Check your own antivirus.

Ive got it on Steam, and had it since release day, and not once had the saves not work/disappear, ive played it a few time too, and currently going through it again now.

Only Antvirus i use, is the free Avira.
