Metro LL + 1440p + CF 280x = Disappointment?

Hi all, as above really.
Received my 2 280x last week and have been playing with Metro LL and have been quite disappointed.
I have everything set to very high except Blur/Advanced Physx/SSAA(set to 2x)/Texture filtering(set to 4x).

My fps stays at 55fps half the times, and the other times it would be on the 30s, or even go as low as the teens.

Did I expect too much from CF 280x?

2xssaa is very demanding setting. I would change this to something else like Fxaa or better smaa.

There's no option for FXAA or SMAA.

What other AA is they? You have msaa? You could use radeonpro and force Fxaa or smaa.

SSAA is basically a brute force form of AA. You're effectively trying to run the game at over 1600p with 2x and over 4k at 4x

Nar texture filtering is fine at 16x that's not AA

It's been a while since I played last light, but for most games I use smaa you should try it.
Smaa ultra = 4xmsaa at 2xmsaa performance hit.

Sorry meant ssaa. On your setup leave on auto. It's a performance killer.

Just trying out settings here, could someone point out which settings are best set to low?
I have FXAA set to ultra,Ambient Occlusion set to Volumetric Ambient Occlusion and ultra, AA filter set to CFAA(edge-effect), Antisotropic set to 16x.
Is there any of thos I should turn down/off?

Average results:
Average Framerate: 54.00
Max. Framerate: 118.40
Min. Framerate: 19.74
