hey all,

any reccomendations?

kids are aged 8/9 were going for 10/14 days and would like something that's decent all inclusive.

never been to Mexico before and don't want to end up somewhere too clubby lol

Playacar just outside (Walking distance) from Playa Del Carmen. I've been 3 times and love it there. Riu Yucatan is the hotel we go to. Loads to do for the kids in the area it's very close to Xcaret which is a brilliant place to go.

You want to be flying into Cancun and staying somewhere along the coast to Play Del Carmen. Stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso previously and could not recommend it enough, was great.

We tried Cancun for the first time Jan 23 and were looking at it again for next week. Whilst I wouldn’t recommend our hotel from last year (it wasn’t that bad) I wanted to add a comment about Tripadvisor reviews:-

Wow! What a minefield! I get you need to go with a clear majority but when you are spending £3K on 2 adults for a week you want it to be at least ‘decent’. It’s a worry.

Choose one of the newer hotels along the coast in Cancún and you’ll have an amazing time. The people are really friendly and the excursions to the cenotes are a must. We also found the Mayan ruins to be awe inspiring but go early in the day.
