MGB GT Restoration

A little more progress but sadly lacking photos as my camera battery died;

Wired up the fuel pump properly
Wired the fans through a ignition live driven relay
Replaced the steering column
Nearly completed the carpet and other trimming
Started prepping the doors for fitting

Trimming takes an age but it's nearing the end, not long 'till I can think about booking an MOT either :)

Been a busy couple of weekends, in no specific order;

Doors fitted and windows fitted to the doors
Made some door trims and fitted them;

I had bought a new distributor from a certain well known company (that I won't mention yet so they have a chance to redeem themselves). The first time I started the engine it ran fine for a while then refused to fire. Turned out there was no spark, so I swapped to a spare dizzy I had on the shelf and it fired up and ran! I sent the "new" amplifier back and was sent a replacement so fitted the new dizzy again, which seems to have failed once again! Back to the old one, and re-timed again...

Some bits and bobs left to finish, hope to have it on the road in the next couple of weeks, perfect weather for it...

The MGB passed the MOT with no issues and I've been driving it about for a month or so before Xmas, while the weather was mild, although I've taken it off the road with all the salt about currently. Still getting a feel for it but it's proper fun and pretty nippy. I still need to finish the insides off and I want to make a few changes to the suspension and brakes already!

I was going to sell this once it was on the road but it's actually really fun to drive so I think one of the Range Rovers is going to get the chop, probably the CSK, once I've taken the uprated parts off it.

I shot a few arty shots on my phone, they didn't come out all that well, but it turns out I don't have any other photos of the MGB out and about so they'll have to do :)

I would like to make a RR day with this, be interesting to get a base line for the BHP before I start messing with the engine. My friend who came with the Megane now has a 350z so he might be up for a visit again too!

Ahh, yeah, I live in Derby :)

I had to rush off to London last RR day though. You should bring the MX5 over one day and we can head to the peaks for some fun and photos?
