Im personally quite happy about this, as it is I'm going to have my hands full with GTA4, Devil May Cry 4, Pro Evo 7, Halo 3, UT2007 and Resident Evil 5 so can proberly do without a game such as MGS4 coming out as well.

Ill proberly end up getting Smackdown v Raw 2008 as well

Just goes to show how the project leaders of these big games always seem to grossly underestimate the cost of multi-threaded code.

I recon it's because they didn't wanna compete with GTA.

Its amazing what a CGI video can do for a game.Did the first one get any recognition?I thought it was a bit crap.

To be fair, we have no idea if it's anything to do with that. It could be well be, but there's a multitude of other things that could be causing the delay.

It being delayed doesn't bother me one bit. In fact I'm glad it's delayed. I'd like to get it on release, so the longer it's delayed, the cheaper a PS3 is likely to be. This and FF are pretty much the only reasons I want a PS3.

MGS series has always been last in Europe/UK probably to do with all the translation issues.

Its hardly a shock though to be fair just like it wont be a shock when Sony announce in September that GT5 will more than likely also be delayed.

They only just started hiring the likes of David Hayter and Cam Clarke a month ago or so. Definitely not coming out over here this year.

Thats what i mean, people are treating it like its the end of the world, its just one game. One that Sony or any one else has never stated the release date for. Dont ever think MGS being delayed is / should be a deal breaker for the PS3.

I'm in no rush, I'd rather they took their time and got it right.
I've not even played MGS3 yet (despite buying it on launch day), and I found MGS2 a massive disappointment (after hyping it up as the best game ever).

Lesson learned... don't read too much about it, let it be a surprise and most importantly, it will be ready when it's ready.

Not interested in MGS4, certainly wouldn't buy any console for a game, let alone one that I've always regarded as mediocre :-/

In saying that I do feel Sony need a big exclusive out before Xmas if they want to sell the system (along with a price drop).

I'm looking forward to the likes of the above mentioned, Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, and more importantly Everybody's Golf 5

, rather than the likes of MGS4 or FFXIII.
