hi guys,

just noticed something weird... i am just a the bit where a certain blond fella is calling me up and telling me he's "right beside me", when you kill the PMC dudes around here a lot of them drop the grenade launcher attachments which since i've already got one get sold off to drebin (info comes up at the right, tells me its worth 12000 and you get that cha-ching sound)...

only thing is, i must have picked up 6 of em and it hasn't added me any drebin points  i've got 62000 at the moment but i had 60 at the start of this section so it just isn't cashing in for me...

anyone else noticed this? i'm saving up for that classic sniper rifle from MGS3 and i aint gonna get there any time soon if my weapons sales aint registering :(

any ideas?

Are you sure nothing at all is cashing?

It may well say its worth 12000dp, but it might multiply it by 0.1 then by another number. It depends where you are etc

Militias and PMC soldiers who constantly respawn will drop items that have no value whatsoever (eventually after a time). This stops you from simply camping and killing everyone in sight, accumulating a lot of drebin points in a small period of time. Having them dropping grenade launcher attachments all the time would simply be too easy.

I tried to work up a lot of Drebin Points. Its just getting a bit boring now. I have completed the game 2 times, and its starting to get a bit boring playing through now. I reckon its going to take atleast 3 play throughs just to get stealth or bandana, by the time i get either of them im not going to want to play the game. Shame they cant just give you is when you complete it once.

It might be easier (or at least more interesting) to get the stealth camo by doing a no alert playthrough. You can do it in easy so it's probably not too hard.

Just do a no kill and no alerts run, so you save a million points easy. The stealth camo is from no alerts, the bandana is from no kills. So do both at the same time. Then go to the last act and buy the Tanegashima with the drebin points you've saved (it's 50% off). You can do the no kill/no alerts run on Liquid Easy mode. I got all three items by the time I got to act 5 on my second playthrough.

I would imagine doing a no kills/no alerts run will give the game a lot of spark back for you, as it's apparent you haven't tried that approach yet. Going gung-ho isn't very interesting :p

Yea, you are right. On my next playthrough i will try to have no alerts, and no kills. Should be fun.

you get an absolute TON of drebin points if you do a 0/0/0/0 playthrough, like ~2 mill. (it will come in a huge chunk through bonus's)

Try it on a harder difficulty to get the most fun out of a 0/0/0 run. I did it on solid normal and it was brilliant fun.

Don't forget guys, there is the cheat code you can enter into that pad in Act 4 that gives you 100,000 drebin points.

you've all lost me a bit... i assumed you were on about goodies that you can aquire by completing the whole game with no kills etc, but KNiVES said he had the goodies before the end of the game?

and how the hell do you get through the whole however many hours of gameplay without an alert??? some bugger is bound to see you, and if he does, you're gonna pop him

Am I the only one who really only used the M4 most of the way through? I picked up all these sub-machine guns and pistols, but other than using the tranq gun a few times I just used the M4.

you prevent them from seeing you by other means, you have a whole range of weapons/tools to deal with it. if you get seen, you reload. It can get tedious reloading all the time but its balanced out if you like the challenge of figuring out how to do sections of the game by stealth :D

Yes I had the goodies on my second playthrough. Avoiding alerts isn't easy but it's not impossible either - you just have to be extremely stealthy and 'when in doubt - knock them out'. Tools like the mark II robot, empty magazines, playboy magazines, tranquilizer darts all help you to get through the game without once being spotted.

I managed to get through the whole game with less than 10 alerts (i ended up with 0 due to reloading when i was seen). The best part of which for me was getting through the whole of Act 4 without an alert, only to be spotted as i was walking through the last door of the final room, buggery.

Waste to be honest! There's dozens of guns: small and huge for you to choose from, plus nice attachments. Why stick with one?

Ehh it isn't as fun as it sounds hehe :D
