MGS4 online beta thread

Yeah - except he's right. There was totally no reason to bring it up, you're just making everything into a personal black against white war with those 360 comments. Again.

dude I was using it as an anology, NokkonWud was complaing about all the delays on the PS3 and how "Peoples patience in what Sony are offering is waining" which is wrong, simple as, the problem is people are so defensive on here about thier consoles.

Is it wrong?
I know a lot of people who would have bought the PS3 without thinking many years ago, but after Sony offering less than the opposition in terms of software and delaying its major releases (that most people bought the console for) really doesn't do them favours.

Peoples patience in Sony is waining.

Their sales aren't so bad now and I think there will be many positive PS3 people after MGS released, especially as they look likely to meet their deadlines this fall with the big games.

Sony haven't got any great exclusives apart from Uncharted and Ratchet but I think they have greatly improved the PS3 since launch, the competition has got better and I still think there many people going to purchase a PS3 some time this year. There's still lots of PS2 owners sitting on the fence ready to buy a PS3 because they want to play the games they played on PS2.

Personally I'm quite happy, It was a slow launch but it's always been like that for their previous systems. I've got great use out of the PS3 and I'm confident that games being released this year and next will be superb.

I've always considered MGO as a really cool extra and all this doesn't bother me that much but it's still disappointing.

I couldn't care less, it's a beta and it's free so I'm not complaining. I just hope this serves as a warning for Konami to sort their servers out. It doesn't take an expert to realise this game will have a huge amount of interest and they need to make sure they can handle it come release.

Actually I've been thinking about this, and actually I do think your wrong, you've made quite a bold statement, one that shouldn't be let off lightly, in one foul sweep you have stated that peoples patience in Sony is waining, wheres your proof in that ?, because looking around the net statistics tell me otherwise, even after the sales decrease on the 360 which was quite a large drop still the PS3 has out sold the 360 every week since in Europe,

Also check out the NPD numbers for for JAN/FEB the PS3 out sold the 360, even in marches NPD numbers the sales are pretty much matched, is this people losing patience in Sony ?, also don't forget the PS2 had a slow start, but then even saying that the PS3 out sold the PS2 compared to its sales figures in its first year, look around the net, many high profile websites and even developers are calling 2008 "The year of the ps3" just type it into google yourself,

So I ask you again, is this people losing patience in Sony, no ?, your wrong, clearly that isn't the case, all I see is Sony gaining ground and popularity tbh, now I'm not trying to say the PS3 is going to beat the 360, in all honestly I don't care about that, I've said from the beginning there is no reason why both consoles can't co-exist in the market place, what I am interested in though is seeing where the PS3 is heading obviously, not only because it is my console of choice atm but because it never does anyone any good when the competition starts to stagnate, so whether you own a PS3 or 360 you always want them to both have a good market share so we as the consumers reap the benefits from that.

Now if I look around a few forums, yeah, it's really not hard to find the same minority shouting louder than everyone else because MGS on-line has been delayed, or a game or two has been set back, but on the street that really isn't on the case, not for the majority anyway, sales figures alone are reflecting this, the problem is many of us on here are quite knowledgeable and we also know people with similar mindsets as ours so when we all have a similar opinion we often end up mistaking that as the general public consensus, often it is not.

well I would love to comment on the game, bit after spending all night downloading the demo, then another 10 mins installing it, I tried to play the thing. Only to be told there is an update, I selected htp and it crashed and I had to quit the game, reloaded and I'm trying p2p now, been waiting 20 mins and not a single k downloaded.

So yes I am also getting a little bit fed up of Sony, I'm sick of buying a game or spending ages downloading a demo only to have to wait even longer to install the thing, I'm sick of waiting forever to download patches. Sorry, rant over its just other then the excellent drakes fortune the ps3 has left me cold

Sony has nothing to do with the MGO beta. Everything you see, from the id to the slow patch download, to the server errors and 9-digit code misprints - all Konami's responsibility. The finger should be pointed purely at them this time.

Konami is THIRD PARTY

MGO - Beta

Yep it's a Beta, how many big game launches like this haven't been plagued with 'Server Overload' problems, anyone remember the Steam launch on PC?

I'd rather them sort it now for the Beta than when the full game arrives - isn't that the whole point of a Beta?

Also its hardly Sony's fault, MGO Beta doesn't have anything to do with PSN its all done by Konami.

Sorry haven't read the whole thread so apologies if I'm just recycling stuff that's already been mentioned.

Even the Dreamcast online worked better than Konami's efforts. :p

That ID signup took the wizz, I was on that site for so long, I eventually got something like "konami.hate.psn.id" I think.

well you should have waited a few days , took me less than 5mins to sign up, more people online now than in dreamcast days, demand for BW has increased for consoles dramatically, just look at xbox live and the amount of maintance that has to do and they still get it wrong. I can wait for the beta, after all its just that a beta.

Apparently not according to some people on here. Took me 5 mins to sign up too, and 20 mins to download both the beta and the update. And yet we're forced to read these ridiculous post about how Konami have screwed up because they were unable to download it as soon as it came out.

I feel sorry for their mothers!

You're now starting to moan a fair bit more about us than we are about Konami :p

Hmm, judging from the amount of **** I've had to sift through in this thread, I seriously doubt it. And your lame attempts at trying to belittle my points only make you look more petulant.

Fine, you may think I was harsh, but my points stand, and there has been little whining about the beta since I posted so you should be thanking me :p

That bodes well for the full release, they're clearly learning for their mistakes and fixing them as they go.

It still won't load at all for me (not too bothered, made one before the rush anyway), nor for my friend who's been trying to get an id for the beta for nearly a week now..
