MH752/MH751 cable advice

Hey, I'm thinking of buying these to use with an Oculus Rift S. However, can it use a shorter cable than the one it comes with as I've heard it hais a proprietry locking mechanism?

Yeah, they use a locking mechanism, which is confirmed by Zeos in his Youtube review. Sennheiser have done that with some of their headphones, such as HD598. I doubt locking mechanisms from different companies are going to be identical that you use cables from different headphones.

I saw someone ask about this on Reddit and Coolermaster said they will be looking into supplying other cables.
