A friend who is currently having his 205 rally car mapped at Emerald (Dave Walkers place) has just texted me to say it is now making 264bhp and 187lbft.

Not bad for a normally aspirated 1.9, makes those shoddy Honda VTEC engines look a bit feeble :D (that was a joke before the flames start).

Will see if I can get some pic's when they get back.

What kind of work has it had done? :)

Quite a lot as you'd imagine...

Touring car spec cam (cam cover had to be machined to clear the lobes  )
Dustbin lid sized valves (don't know actual size but looking down the inlet port they are virtualy touching).
Lovely porting job on head
Forged pistons
Steel rods (with stock crank)
Dry sumped
Jenvey throttle bodies
Emerald ECU
Ultralight steel flywheel with multi-plate clutch.

Not exactly a budget engine...but then again he's blown up 3 standard Mi16's in a row due to oil surge (running very sticky tyres) so decided to do it properly for this years events.

If RWD bellhousings were available I would would have chosen an Mi16 over a 20XE for my Locost, they are so light in comparison.
