If I buy this film wanting to be blown away by an awesome action film, will I be disappointed?

I'd like something to showcase the new up-scaling DVD player and sound system I've just installed

watched it the other day, it's awful. Anything that gets below a 7 on IMDB is generally rubbish.

Immediately after watching it at the cinema, i wasnt sure what i thought. I still dont think i really know! Maybe i should watch it again

I loved it's style though, a lot of handheld stuff etc..

EDIT: @OP; I dont seem to remember it being that action-packed either. If thats what you're after you might be dissapointed.

it had so much possibilities! an 80s cop drama! PERFECT genre! but no they just thought here are a list of all bad ideas let put them in one film and put colin farrel in it asweel for good measure!

for x mas im going to punch michael mann, thats my gift to the world!

In terms of effects, it was alright but, as a movie, it reminded me a bit of James Bond in a sense that you got the job these guys are having(as cops), turned into some glamour show.

Its good but it isnt. The action scenes are good, but its very stop-start-stop-start all the way through.

Beautifully shot by Michael Mann, storyline could be better though! Ace soundtrack as well.

I enjoyed it, its fairly different to the usual action films.

If your expecting a bad boys clone i think you'll be disappointed!

Poor boring film imo, should have been good, but wasnt.

And i agree on the colin farrel remark above the guy is a poor actor imo, one good film i have seen him do (phonebook) apart from that i cant see why everyone raves about him.

What he said. It was marketed all wrong so all the 'Bad Boys' fan boys went to watch the wrong film.

I'd say it was quite an enjoyable film albeit nothing exceptional, it was slightly odd how for about 5 minutes it becomes super-violent in comparison to what had gone before and then calms down again totally. I would recommend it as a film to rent rather than buy.

I quite enjoyed it myself, although I am a huge Michael Mann fan, just love his film style, stunning to watch.

personally i thought it was shot mediocorely (if thats even a word) and one of the cameras they used was rubbish quality compared to the rest.

tho for something to play on ** up scaling dvd player....pirates of the caribbean 2 is pretty fantastic

I thought it was pretty good to be honest.

Dont expect anything like a movie of the TV show though, its nothing like that.

The music soundtrack is absolutely fantastic as well.

I'm not a great fan of Colin Farrell, but he wasnt bad in this.

Watch it as a film to pass some time for fun with no huge expectations and you will like it.
