Mic aint working

On wed or thursday i discovered that my mic aint working, went into test hardware nothing is registering.

Only this min tried an old headset and that aint working either. any ideas?

i have just remembered i was tinkering about with my mobo fan 1 day last week so ive prob just knocked a wire out (hopefully)

My logitech gaming headset doesnt seem to work, well the headphones do, not the mic.

So I have to use my Logitech 4000 webcam mic. Which I have to say, is appauling to say the least. It pics up to much sound :O even on the lowest settings, not a scratch on a headset.

ok checked inside the comp and as far as i can see, all the wires are in. altho i do have a cable that connects to my sound card but isnt plugged into anything but thats always been like that..... should this be connected to the motherboard?

The only other cable i touched was the cable from the psu. there is 2 wires identical so i dont know if i put the correct 1 bak in. on the wire it says p4 and p4+. i tried p4 1st and it says comp could not run as settings had changed or something like that so i changed to p4+ and same thing happened. went into bios and changed to optimum (i think) and the comp started working.

Any ideas please guys?
