Hi guys

I want to start my own channels and wanting a good mic. Some of it will be live so I need to minimize the sound of my keyboard clicks etc... I believe a dynamic mic would be good for this?

I've looked at the behringer xms8500 connected via a USB cable.
Is this the best quality I can get? I was only looking to spend between £30-£50

Wrong you do not need the Yeti. in fact in many revews ect the Blue Microphones SNOWBALL ICE has better sound.

The only reason to consider the yetie is if you wish to connect the mic to a mixing deck.

The ice is perfect for starting out, a simple pop filter will cost you around £7.

Only get the snowball ie not the ice if you can make use of the different patterns, ie. will be doing interviews , sound is captuered from the front and rear, or playing live musical instruments.

Other thatn that just get the ice, I had mine bought for me, brilliant mic.

So either get

Blue Microphones SNOWBALL ICE USB Mic

or

Blue Microphones SNOWBALL - ALUMINIUM

Hope it helps

I agree with Data Vampire the snowball has great reviews. Nice mic.
Depending on what your doing and what you want really, my mic on my headset sounds perfect for Videos on youtube. Probably not studio quality but it did the job very well and saved me some bucks buying a new one.

Yes the Snowballs are good mics and for a lot less money BUT they are also extremely quiet and in order to get enough volume you need them right in your face and then they get in the way if you're trying to play a game.

I got bought one and actively use a blue snowball everyoday, mine sits a fair distance away from me. I do nto feel they are quite, I am told on the other end in fact its the opposite, sometimes they have to turn me down.

My oldest was so impressed with mine, he also bought one, all beit the ice version, again, his sits fair distance away from him. none of us are experiancing what you describe ?

As I said I think if you look at reviews you will find the yeti is the one that has to be the one close, in fact im sure mine at least is a good 1 foot awayu same for my son.

Hope it helps
