Hi
I have a Gigabyte H77M-D3H rev1.0 which has both AC97 and HD-Audio ports for the FPanel audio, it has VIA RT 2021 Audio Chip - my case is AC97 as I found out with my last motherboard which was HD_Audio only - I had to disable "Enable Front Panel Detection" to get headphones working on that one ..... well, its the same again for this motherboard even though I am connected to AC97 port on there?? , I have to disable Front Panel Detection to get audio through headphones, Ive also noticed that theres nothing for Microphone in the VIA HD Audio Deck, I have a headset connected which has a working MIC (tested on laptop) connected to the Fpanel MIC port - when I look in the Windows Properties box it shows a MIC but "not plugged in" and underneath it has Via High Definition Audio.
can anyone help resolve this? I dont really have any use for the MIC just yet but Iam applying for a job working from home which requires a headset like this too work.
it seems to me to be an underlying issue with Gigabyte Motherboards with people unable to get Fpanel audio to work etc..
thanks
