Mic not Working

Hi recently finished building my new PC, but I'm having an issue, when I connected my headphone jack into the headset jack on the case, my sound works, and I can hear evrything, but my Microphone doesn't, which it should. I looked around how to fix it, and they said something about checking if it is even connected to the PC, and I checked under recording devices, and it isn't showing, while it is showing my headset under playback

Please help me

what ear buds? If so will you not need a 3.5mm female headphone splitter Y cable?
