Mic problem

Just got hold of a Sennheiser PC161 other week. No problems with the headphones but when ever i speak over the mic i hear myself on the speakers and can be some what off putting. Anyone Know how i could fix this so dont hear myself speaking over the mic?

What operating system are you running? If it's Vista, then there's a pretty easy solution. In the Control Panel double-click on Sound, right click on Speakers, or whatever you're using for sound output, then select properties. Navigate to the Levels tab, and mute the Microphone volume you see there (you'll probably have to scroll down). If that doesn't work, you may have to mute some of the other things, it depends where you have your microphone plugged into. If you're using XP, then I have no solution I'm afraid.
