Hello all,

I am having problems with my two mice!

One is the mouse buttons on a netbook. Will try the Logitec mouse on the netbook later.

The other is a Roccat and is about a year old and is wired to my PC.

Both have this double click on a single click and its driving my household nuts. I have tried to reinstall on the PC though as its happening on both i dont think its the hardware.

It has been noted to double click in outlook and in IE. I have checked the settings and the mouse is not set to double click.

Could this be a Windows7 issue? Its teh only common factor?

Apart from running a virus checks I am unsure what to do next. Please dont just say buy another, thats really a last resort!

UPDATE: I deleted all Windows updates for the last month and it is defintely not doing it yet. Will give it a day or so then start to re apply one at a time to see if I find a culprit!

Roccat + Razor mice have both died on me in the past with pretty much the same issue.

Lightly pressing the button causes double clicks, pressing it with a fair bit of force often got a single click.

Strange its the onboard mouse too tho!

I have a roccat kova + and in the (crappy software may I say) you can choose the double click speed... this could be the problem... and there are options for single/double click also...

so probably a driver/software issue

I have tried re-installing the mouse, using only Windows drivers and only Roccat drivers with no luck.

I think its down to a Windows update that I did a week or two ago. Still leaving it a few days to test no i deleted a load, seems ot be working better.

Ok - it started doing it again, even acting like I triple clicked.

Any further ideas would be appreciated.

It is not the double click speed in windows or software. EVen when on slowest it still acts as a double click. Nothing is set to double click.

i have plugged my netbook Logitec mouse into my PC see how things go!

my microsoft intellimouse went the same way, turned out it was mechancically broken and I had to replace it eventually, sounds like yours might be out of time as well.

You could always try a mouse button controller like x button, set the left click to just a normal left click and see if it still double clicks.

Had a similar problem with my logitech mx revolution a while back. After a bit of searching it turned out to be a common problem with a leaf spring in the switch 5 minutes with a screw driver and it hasnt been a problem since.

Holy thread revival!

Yep, had my Roccat Kone v2 for just coming up to 2 months, and every roughly 5th click is a double click I didn't want. Great. RMA time!
