I just heard Mick Hucknalls take on Taj Mahal's "ain't that a lot of love".

LOL

He's certainly ripped the guts out of that song!
Taj would be turning in his grave ....if he was dead.

Anyone interested in hearing the way it should be sung/played should get a copy of the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll circus DVD (highly recommended!).

Mick Hucknall sits on the right hand side of Satan and we all know that Satan is Phil Collins when he started to write his solo stuff.
 
It just makes me laugh though really...if i didnt laugh i would cry.

Micks version i can imagine mid to old age housewifes doing a bit of gardening with the radio on in a background singing the odd line to "the song" in a cringing middle England vicars wife way. Ray Davies of the Kinks wrote a song about the kind of people im thinking of.
 
I like his early stuff with simply red (holding back the years/moneys too tight to mention etc) but the stuff he is doing now is dire.
