I'm building myself a new rig in the next week and I'm working with the Fractal Arc Mini case - Micro ATX motherboard. Going by the figures I was hoping to squeeze in 2x 6850's in Crossfire as for £200 I can't see a better graphics setup.

Has anyone tried crossfire/SLI in this case, just wondering if it will physically fit? If so, any problems with high temperatures?

Any help appreciated, as I might just need to go for a single 6950 instead.

Now is a bad time for getting graphic card for new build.

79xx cards are supposed to be launched this week (22nd), but the price is most likely going to be £300~£400+.

If the 7950 is priced at around £300, and 60-80% faster then the 6950 as rumoured/speculated, then it might still worth upping your budget to that.

78xx cards on the other hand are said for be around the same price as the 6950. Considering it is on 28nm process, that would be lower in power consumption and temp. However, 78xx cards are not going to launch until Jan/Feb....

...so your best bet is to wait till the end of the week and see some reviews on the 79xx cards first, then decide of you want to stretch budget for them, or just grab a 6950, or wait for the 78xx cards.

Okay thanks for that, didn't realise it was so soon that they were coming out. I'll decide what card to choose when the reviews come out.
