Hey all,

Is it possible to have everything a normal desktop PC to have in a "Barebones" system with a Micro-ATX motherboard?

By "everything normal" - I mean a nice juicy graphics card, hard drives, powerful CPU, mucho RAM sticks etc.

Thanks,

Marky

Yup, quite doable.

Just depends on your choice of case.

Mine is a mATX system, running an 6-Core CPU, and a pretty good GPU.

But it's not the smallest case in the world.

You can go smaller and achieve the same.

Absolutely.

As a starting point, check out the Asus Rampage Gene i7 motherboard - Micro-ATX board that supports i7, triple channel memory and Dual Card SLI or Crossfire GPU setup.

I must admit I was tempted down this route, but have 'merely' downsized from a Lian Li A70B to a PC-P50R. Still enough with 9 bays and room for a Full ATX, but not the total space hog that a Full Tower would be.
