I was wondering what older gen used super-small form factor PCs were available, that i could use as a base for my laser cutter machine. I'm used to fairly good performance and big screens as graphics is involved and decided against going cheap laptop, as they're usually pretty bad at both (no poke and small screens).
What i want is to find a cheap, super small form factor i5 based tiny square-behind-monitor kind of PC that i can stick an ssd and at least 8gb of ram into, strap it to the case of my lazor and connect it to a 42"+ 1080p TV thats on the back wall behind the cnc machine.
Looking for base makes/models i could use for this purpose.
PC will be running win10, corel20, nanocad/autocad(for 2d only) and lightburn. No need for 3d hardware, just 2d done well.
All of this comes from my recent frustration with laptops, they're either chunky/noisy/hot(gaming ones), small/dumb/slow or un-upgradeable beyond 4gb ram and with no way to expand storage, so figured there has to be a box type PCs out there with slots for putting things in the but small enough to be light and fast(ish). Plus the lack of space in my workshop prevents me from having a normal PC kicking about with cables trailing, hence looking for "strap onto machine casing" option.
Any ideas/suggestions ?
