Hi forum

Getting a 16gb asus eee transformer delivered and wanted to know the best
Micro sd card and I take it the higher the class the faster/ better...

Yes, higher class = faster.

Secure Digital

But it's still not fast.

A class 10 card has a read speed of 10MB/s.

A 3.5" HDD typically 100-120MB/s.

An SSD anything up to and over 500MB/s.

Not sure, personally, that the speed rating makes a whole load of difference in most real world uses.....

I have a 16GB SDHC card in my FZ38 camera - think it is a class 4 or maybe class 6.....no issues with any use. Then, my Panasonic HD camcorder came supplied with a Panasonic 4GB SDHC card which was class 2, and this is for 1080 HD video footage....again, never any issues with use (which is not surprising, seeing as this is what the manufacturer includes ;) )

I bought a Class 4 32GB microSDHC for my Transformer - really didn't take too much interest in the class of the card, more the storage - ultimately, can't see what I will be requiring the Transformer to do that *relies* on a faster speed....perhaps there would be benefits in file operations, but video/music/photos all seem to be fine :)

I've got a Class 6 16GB microSDHC in my phone. There's a noticeable difference between that and the Class 2 that came with the phone when I bought it. Not much, but it's there. I think Class 10 is a bit excessive price/performance wise though.
