Micro stutter/mouse lag Win 11 and gaming?

Any pointers before I pull the pin and do a reinstall please.

Firstly system is a fully custom watercooled and not overclocked win 11/Ryzen 3600/3080fe/32gb ram setup so nothing I'm doing should be causing any lag or stutter.

I seem to have developed a situation where I get little lags/freezes, most noticeable in games (I tend to play slightly older games so for example I really noticed this recently playing through wolfenstein the new order which is 8 years old) it's a fraction of a second but very noticeable, it also occasionally happens in windows.

I only ever notice it when I'm moving the mouse or looking around in a game, never playing video etc. To that end I bought a new mouse.. same thing.

This is what makes me think it may be something in windows hence the reinstall threat.

Before I do that, any ideas what it might be or how I might diagnose it?

As above isnt this a known issue with ryzen and windows 11 on certain set-ups. AMD have just release a BIOS to manufacturers to fix this

Interesting, there is a new chipset driver from gigabyte for my board and it does feel like a lot of polling. If I didn't know better I would have blamed chrome.

Could always just turn it off, see if it helps? I turned it all off on my system, didn't need any of the "benefits" from having it enabled in the end.

Disable HPET.
If you have an Nvidia card, in 3D settings disable threaded optimisation in the profile for the games you are experiencing this in (especially OpenGL games like Wolfenstein).
