Hey guys,

Im not sure where to post this, so I opted for general hardware.

During CS games, my ping and FPS are decent..the issue im having is that every couple of minutes I get a slight "stutter" or "lag" for a fraction of a second..

can someone please enlighten me to what this could be??

cheers.

What's your GPU and CPU usage while gaming? I'd expect the GPU to sit around 60+%. Saying that, is CS a CPU intensive game?

im not sure mate, all i run is the "net graph 1" to show the FPS / ping etc..

I think it is quite CPU intensive but at the end of the day it is CS lol.

Anything I can try in the NVIDIA control panel etc??

My NIVIDA control panel is all stock. Will changing to max performance etc help? if so can someone can tell me what "3D settings" etc should be..

When i originally built my ryzen last summer I had a nightmare with cs go micro stutters.

I doubled my fps but the stutters made the game unplayable. I tried all kinds to solve it but nothing worked.

what eventually solved it for me was going into my audio settings and dropping the format down to CD quality from DVD quality.

That solved your micro stuttering issue altogether mate?

Had similar issues on Overwatch, the only game to have micro stutter / lag every few seconds... worked out to be internet connection.

Every other game was totally fine with no issues whats so ever. Had good wireless card installed and strong connection but still had stutter until i bought the home plug and used wired connection

hmm.. wonder if that might be my issue too then? As I have a WI-FI dongle in my USB3 slot, on the mobo...

By all means that's something you can try to rule out. If you can bring your PC to your router and connected it wired. See how that goes.

If it will be the connection then you can look into "home plugs" if you cant connect directly to router.:p

my pc is around 8-10 feet away from my router, so i can run an Ethernet cable to it no problem. will give this a go. The reason I dont run wired is the kitchen door is in the way, so would need to route up and over the door :o

But if it does make a difference i will look at some home plugs.

Decided to route the RJ11 cable from the socket, around the wall + door to have my router next to my pc and go with Ethernet connection, instead of WI-FI.
