Micro stuttering in window mode

So I seem to have the opposite problem to what a lot of people seem to get which is that I get bad micro stuttering in games if I run them in window mode but they are silky smooth when in full screen. Obviously I'd prefer to use borderless window mode in games as it's easier to alt tab. Anyone got any idea what would be causing the micro stutters?

Which game(s)? Without being more specific it could literally be anything.

Planet side 2, Natural Selection 2 and Skyrim are games I have played recently and noticed it in. I think it might be a universal problem though.

Have you got aero disabled? I get some odd stuttering/tearing if i run any 3d stuff in a window if aero is disabled.

Nope, haven't tried that I'll give it ago. Kinda sucks though, everything looks ugly without aero

Yeah, changing to windows basic seems to have helped in NS2 at least.

Yeah but it's silly I have to choose with such a machine lol

Try to put the process priority to high in task manager. That solved my stuttering problem in WoT.
