Hey guys, I have just bought a 2nd 5D mark 3 and was going through the menu settings to set them up the same.

I came across the micro-adjustment settings options and was wondering whether the settings would be the same...I cant be arsed to get all the calibration equipment and go through all of my lenses again... I'm hoping you guys confrim my suspicions that the microadjustments will be the same as the sensor position of the 5D maek 3 would be set up in factory with precision... or No?

No, there will be differences between cameras. Differences in the exact alignment of the mount, the sensor, the AF sensors, etc.

You will have to do a full analysis on a different body. For sure there might be some correlation but the camera will have its own error.

what i do is very scientific, i bunged my 5d3 on a very good tripod, one that doesn't move, geared head.

And took lots of shots of a pebble :D at various settings -20, -15 blah blah, got it pretty spot on, my 400mmf5.6 i did hand held and came out with +6, when i put it on the tripod i found -5 was the best.

£Brainwave... I'm off to corner the market in surgical wrist extensions for photographers!

+11 on your body, sir? Step right this way...
