I'm having some serious issues with my microhpone.
The volume keeps going down towards the bottom.

as you can see here,

(Volym = Volume, Mikrofon = Microphone)

my "rear MIC" is down at the bottom, and if I try to turn it up, it refuses. it just goes down to the same position, and as you also can see, I try turning up the Mic to full but then after 5 seconds it drops to the same position as Rear MIC. so I figured out that if I can turn up Rear MIC, I can keep my Mic at the top, but as I said, it refuses to "be changed", so I was just wondering if there's any way to turn up the Rear MIC ? any help is appreciated.

I tried to raise the volume in MSN, but it refuses to be raised there as well. it just jumps up and down when I try to pull it towards maximum, while holding down the left mouse click. when I release the mouse, It goes back to the bottom again.

I tried disconnecting the microphone, and then raise the volume, but that didn't work either.

It ends up looking like this.

Same problem as OP - Mic volume won't increase

I have the same problem as the OP described above. I've just bought a new webcam, with built in microphone, from OCUK. When I tested it on Skype testcall I have no problem, but when I call someone, the mic "volume" drops very low and eventually all sound to the caller is lost.

I am thinking it might have something to do with the automatic level adjuster on the mic. I tried using the "Test hardware" button in Windows Sounds and audio devices properies dialogue box and got some serious feeback from the speakers when testing the mic through the speakers.

Is it possible the mic is getting interference from or too near my PC speakers?
(the lead won't go further from the speakers)

I have a headset with mic, which works fine when plugged in to the PC front socket.

Any help would be appreciated.
