Microphone Problem

Hiya guys,

I have just bought a Creative headset (HS-400)

The headphones are working but the microphone is not.
There seems to be no recognition of sound, sound levels do not appear to alter in control panel -> speech.

I have checked that the microphone is not muted in any way.
I have also attempted to detach the microphone from the headphones and plug it straight into the mic input.
There has still been no recognition of sound.

Any ideas?

Did you check the sort of remote it has on the wire? Also maybe your MIC-Input is bust? I have that headset and its fine for me. Before anything try another MIC and see if it works.

Broken Mic...

Heya, Just tested the mic in another computer,
And has the same results.
Simply a broken mic.
Thanks for help though.
