Hi all,
My last mic bit the dust (ATR2100 USB dynamic) and I am therefore looking for a new one. I liked the 2100 but seeing as I'm being given a refund, it's nice to have the option to try out something different.
For the purposes of YouTube and eventually, streaming, what would the people on here recommend? I haven't really got a max budget as such, but I guess I don't see the point in buying something lower quality than what I had before. On the other hand, there's no point me spending crazy money either.
On OcUK, I've been looking at the Snowball and Yeti, which I understand are meant to be good. I see that there's also the AKG P120 and a few other additional models, but I don't know how they fare compared to, say, the Yeti. Also, I don't know whether to stay with a dynamic mic or go for a condenser; am I right in saying that a condenser will pick up more background noise but provide a more even pattern of sound pick-up?
Finally, is a shock mount a wise idea (microphone depending)?
Thanks. All advice appreciated.
