I have a new Asus B 760 Strix DDR4 Motherboard with an i5 13400 , 32 GB RAM , 1 tbb Nvme, 750 Corsair gold psu and the Lancool Mesh C 205 Case (no GPU)
I have tried plugging in my two analog Headsets in the Front pannel audio and back of the motherboard and my mic volume is very low on all programs , the audio seems fine.mic volume in Windows and in any program i use e.g. discord is on 100%. The headset mics work fine on all other devices. When using another USB headset which uses its own soundchip my mic works fine. I installed the latest Audio driver for my Motherboard, flashed to the new bios version and even reset windows and I have the same issue. I have figured out thusfar that it is not a Windows issue and is either a Bios or a hardware issue. I have even tried taking out the CMOS battery for some time and put it back in and still have the issue. Any ideas what I can do? Please focus on the hardware and bios side of things . It is not a driver issue as stated above.

Which jack are you plugging it into in the rear of the motherboard? Do you have the sound software installed, or just the driver?

Just the realtek drivers. I plug in the pink end for the microphone in the pink port and green in the green port. Everything gets recognised correctly

In the Sound Control Panel on the Recording tab, open Properties for your Microphone device, do you have the option for Microphone Boost turned up on the Levels tab?

If i put the boost in 30 and mich Volume on 100 it works fine but this does seem normal. My USB Headset works normal even without boost while my two 3.5 mm Headsets need a 30 boost to be normally audible. Headsets are Hyperx Cloud Alpha and an old Logitech G Pro , so quality headsets

Needing some boost is normal, I've found. Depending on the headset, 30db might introduce noise, but I haven't had an analogue headset that hasn't required at least some boost for quite some time.

Can't really compare with USB headsets because they do the amplification and ADC in the headset.

Ok. Seems a bit weird to have max everything out when the default windows settings is 90 % mic volume with no boost. Right now I am 100% and 30boost . Anyway if any further issues come up I will return to this thread.

Update. I have another issue, that is probbaly related. My microphone also picks up my desktop audio and is also rustlign while I listen to the playback.
