Microsoft Band 2 replacement

Been using a Band 2 for few years now. Really love it. Sadly I got caught in a flash flood on my bike off roading yesterday and it got drenched. Now it won't charge and buttons don't seem to work when it is plugged in. Basically it's toast I think.

In Microsoft's wisdom, they no longer make them and discontinued support.

So I want something to replace it. Any recommendations? Ideally it needs to be water proof, do heart rate, and basically allow me to do all the stuff the Band 2 did. Back when I bought the Band 2 (2016) I disliked the fitbits. Guess I have no choice now though?

You were lucky it lasted that long!

I had three in the space of a couple of years; each one succumbed to the dreaded strap failure.

I did love it, though, and have been looking for a replacement for last couple of months. I think I am going to get the Fitbit Ionic, which is quite pricey, but ticks all the boxes for me.

If you need some good reviews on all smart/sport watches, check out DC Rainmaker's site. Very in depth.

I loved my band 2. Sad puppy eyes when it died. It would not charge up. So was binned.
I went back to my band 1 until the Fitbit Ionic came out. I had to replace the strap as the default I found to be rubbish.

But yes, like the OP, it does what I need to do. I dont use the music part nor the fitbit pay but for activity tracking it is pretty good.

Thanks for suggestion, bit pricey for me atm really. Any thoughts on the Fitbit Charge 2? Seems good price and matches most of the stuff the Band 2 did.

The Charge 2 is an excellent fitness tracker and well worth the money. It comfortably goes 5+ days without needing a charge versus my older Apple Watch that barely made it to 24 hours. Obviously the AW and C2 have different capabilities, but largely speaking most people are using Apple Watch as a fitness tracker and for notifications - and not a lot else. And the Charge 2 can do call, calendar and text message notifications, and in my experience is a more reliable fitness tracker. The AW tracks arm movements as steps all day long, whereas the C2 is far less prone to this.
