Microsoft band paired with android - yay/nay

Hey all,

Pondering on getting a Microsoft band (1) as they are so cheap now but just wondering how limited they are for notifications etc? Would say whatsapp come through to it or would I need to look at the phone for that?

If they don't play great with android then I may as well go android wear, but the band is that cheap now I'm wondering if it is worth a go!

Whatsapp comes through, as does any notification at all.

I'm perfectly happy with it, got a band 2 coming in a few weeks after pre-ordering. I think the only thing im missing by not pairing it with a windows phone is the Cortana app, but im not too fussed about that and tbh dont really know what im missing. I got it mainly for fitness/sleep tracking. Any notification i could read in full i.e. complete text/whatsapp msgs, but usually just see who its from to know whether or not its worth me getting my phone out of my pocket and unlocking to read in full properly.
