Microsoft Certification changes

Recently it looks like MS have changed the system.

What do people think of it ?

Can you still get an MCSE ?

There are a raft of new certifications for vista and win2008. They probably work differently too but I haven't looked too closely.

A lot more modular and a bit more complex imho.

Its a bit hard to gauge the value of them at the moment until some of the MCSE guys who work for me transition to the new quals. Then I'll know if they are worth using as benchmarks.

At first glance though, they are very confusing.

They won't be retiring the MCSE for a while. After all, the majority of companies will be using 2003 for a few years still. Which path you take depends on your requirements (2003 or 2008). I'll be looking to upgrade in the coming months.

we're only moving over to 2008 this year, so will be upgrading my MCSE this year. The certs are changing to MCTS
